Verses That Hurt is a staged multimedia poetry performance and open mic that took place March 5th and 6th, 2010 at the Armory Free Theatre on the campus of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, directed by Grant Bowen. I designed the sound and collaborated on the initial development of the evening.
Multiple loudspeaker arrays were used to create an immersive environment, transporting the audience to a city street outside a subway station, and to provide impactful playback of music, voiceover, and other localizing sound atmospheres.
