Backyard Shark was a band that I played in with my friends Ed Waldmire, Tony Waldmire, and Tom Barta. When the band started in 2004, we were all drummers, and Ed wanted to take the challenge of playing guitar and singing in a band. Of course, our first rehearsal was in a musty basement. Over the next several years, we had a lot of fun driving back and forth between Champaign and Springfield for rehearsals, ROKKING and melting faces all over Illinois. Someday soon, we’re going to “resurface” and make a record!
The name doesn’t mean anything. It’s nonsense.
Our logo was hand-drawn by Route 66 legend, artist Bob Waldmire, who was Ed and Tony’s uncle.
